Facebook Question: Bridal Shower Games

bridal shower games

There’s a discussion thread on the HWTM Facebook discussion board that I’m hoping some of you might be able to help with if you have any bright ideas… it’s something that comes up often actually – the topic of what types of games (if any) should be played at bridal showers & bachelorette parties (or baby showers)…and I have to say it most often seems to be discussed with a hint of dread.

Here are the exact questions:

I’m responsible for two games for a bridal/bachelorette shower, and I would like to opt not to do all of the games that have been done before, i.e. birdal bingo, what’s in the bride’s purse, toliet paper bride. The shower is lingerie themed and in a hotel room. thanks for any ideas…”

I need help with this also!! I am throwing a “stay-at-home” bachelorette party and I can’t find ANY games that aren’t super boring or stupid. Please help!!

When it comes to baby & bridal showers, I usually prefer to go the “activity” route instead of the game route, but the “Bridal Shower Games“  book pictured above actually has some cute ideas… like the TV twosomes idea where you match the TV wife with her co-star mate (also something that you could do with real-life celebrity couples). The pics above and below are from a bridal shower I co-hosted last year, where each guest created a scrapbook page for the bride using a polaroid shot taken at the shower and a variety of markers & scrapbook stickers/embellishments that were made available to them.

If you have any ideas for Amanda and Jordan, please post them under this topic at the Facebook page! Thanks!

OMG, I LOVE the scrapbook idea! I had heard of everyone making a page beforehand (which wouldn’t work for the bachelorette party I’m throwing) but never AT the party. Thanks for the fantastic idea!

I’m having trouble with this, too….so far, this is all i got:
    1. Name Scramble
Give each of your guests a sheet of paper and a pen. At the top of the paper, you will have already printed out the bride’s and the groom’s given names. Position the names so they are one on top of the other, such as this example:
    KEVIN PATRICK JONES
    SHAUNA DEANN SMITH
Next, give your guests three or four timed minutes to make as many words as they can out of the two names. The guest who writes down the most number of words wins a small prize.

For a BABY shower – take baby bottles, fill them w beer, and have the people that want to participate try to drink the beer. whoever can chug the beer from the bottle the fastest wins.

I am planning a couples baby shower with my daughter’s bff. I came up with the idea of an adult version of pinata. We are having the party at the local Holiday Inn pool side room. The theme is Bubbles n Bath. I am going to get a yellow duck and convert to the string style pinata with lottery tickets attached to the end of the strings. The pinata will be stuffed with adult items like condoms, chocolate liquor shots, trial size personal care items and some small ‘adult’ items from Spensors. Each person will pick a string and at the spelling of b-a-b-y pull. I looked for another twist on opening the pinata other than smashing it but this was the only one I found, Anyone have ideas?
