The Modern Thanksgiving Table

modern fall table & party ideas

Does the phrase “Thanksgiving decor” bring visions of illustrated pilgrims, paper turkeys and country home dinnerware to mind? Well, think again! Tap into a bold autumn color palette of vibrant orange, rich chocolate, and earthy shades of green for a modern take on your Thanksgiving celebration this year.

Here are a few ideas:

Pictured at top: I’m loving this khaki Blowing Leaves invitation to set a stylish tone for any autumn get-together.

And on the table front: The always contemporary-and-affordable cb2 sets a gorgeous fall-friendly tablescape with comma plates ($0.95 – $1.95 ea) in orange, green, and bark (brown), giant monstera leaves, and trendy square Edge Dinnerware ($3.95-$5.95).

Also pictured above: Mosaic Recycled Placemat (although for a fall table I prefer the look of this eco-friendly, twig-themed Bakaw Placemat – both $6.95 ea) and striped Ole Table Runner ($19.95).

Pictured above: An alternative table layout using the same comma plates and Edge Dinnerware, pictured with cb2’s seamless orange Scroll Tray, which is perfect for serving up signature drinks or appetizers and adds a bright pop of color for only $14.95!

I love the vibrancy of the colors! Question: My husband inherited a bolt of linen cloth that was made in Belfast Ireland. What could I use it for? I have read about “Hankerchief Linen”, “Shirt Linen” what are the differences between them? If anyone has an idea, please let me know! Thanks, Marsha
