cowboy western baby shower theme

This Backyard Barbeque Baby Shower that Beth Helmstetter hosted at a residence in Shawnee, Kansas is super creative, inviting, and full of down-home country FUN!

Guests sat on pillow-topped hay bales, mini bouquets of white daisies were lined up neatly on vintage cowboy print linens, invitations were handmade on pieces of wood, and adorable mini pies were served up for desserts…

Invitations (pictured at top):
DIY project using pieces of craft wood from Michaels and Iron On Transfers. I designed the invite in photoshop and then ironed it on to the wood.

Food:
We served Kansas City Style BBQ which was not only appropriate for the theme but budget friendly. For dessert we served miniature homemade pies.

Beverages: Strawberry lemonade, Iced Tea and Old Fashioned bottled sodas (Coca-Cola, Crush, Root Beer & Cream Soda). Mason jars were pre-filled with drinking straws that read “howdy”.

I love this! I actually tried to iron-on our table numbers to wood, and it didn’t work very well… so I’m excited to see I was on the right track (even though the wedding is now over)! Love all the details.

Your appreciation for themed fonts is inspiring. I think the jars for drinking and bails for sitting are the best. So creative. Thank you!

where did you get the lovely gold mine goodie bags

  • 31 jenn s.

    Glenda –
Here’s what Beth said about the goodie bags: “I got them from Michael’s. They are just filled with gold
Bubble gum. They have a little vintage candy section and I think they have them all year round.”

    ***

    Ann –
    The pashminas came from http://www.fashionunic.com

    ***

    Shelly –
Here’s what Beth said about the invites:

“The invitations were very easy. I created the layout in Photoshop and printed it onto heat transfer paper. Then I bought the wood at Michael’s and ironed on the information :)

I love all the creative ideas you put together. I am completely inspired! I was wondering where you were able to locate the fabric you used for table cloths?
Thank you. I can’t wait to throw the cowboy baby shower this July.
