Black Box Wines – “You Got Boxed” Contest

For my fellow wine lovers (and those of you good with a video camera!):
This summer Black Box Wines launched the “You Got Boxed” contest to challenge its fans to share boxed wines with their friends. For a chance to win, contestants secretly serve guests Black Box Wines (in lieu of traditional bottled wine) and capture their reaction on camera when the box is revealed. There is a monthly $2,000 prize and a final grand prize of a whopping $10,000!
The whole line of Black Box Wines, which includes 2 new varietals – a Columbia Valley Riesling and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc – are perfect for summer parties, BBQs and picnics due to the larger quantities (one box = 4 bottles), good price, and longevity (and no risk of broken glass!).

I tried box wine for the first time this summer and I really enjoyed it! It was far better than I had expected. I might have to look into this contest.

Great idea to get over the stereotype of boxed wine. I spent a few months in Italy and was shocked by the number of boxed wines in the stores and the number of Italians actually drinking it. But then I quickly found out that some of their best wines were now being put in boxes. I’ll have to check this out. Thanks Jenn for another great heads up!

A lot of people don’t even give boxed wine a chance, but there are some really great ones, nowadays.
