LIBBYJAMES - We bought a large piece of styrofoam (Walmart, Michaels and Jo-anns all carry this) and we traced the letter K with a sharpie pen. They do sell styrofoam cutters, but we just used a really sharp knife to cut out the K. Be careful because if you apply too much pressure the styrofoam will break. This did happen to us, so we used styrofoam glue and toothpicks to attach the broken piece. After the K was cut out, We used over 20 bunches of pink carnations to fill it. We cut the carnation head and used double sided toothpicks to pick it into the styrofoam.
