Modern Stone Age Family
I’m loving the offbeat shapes of this Wilma stoneware from cb2 - especially when the different pieces are stacked on top of each other, which makes for a great presentation. Orange and grey is actually a very nice color combo, so the 2 versions would look great mixed as well. A tabletop set with alternating place settings of orange salad plates on grey dinner plates and vice versa sounds especially chic! ($1.95 - $5.95 per piece at cb2 )

simplyFine by Lenox
The last (and only!) time that I picked out China was while creating our wedding registry at the ripe old age of 22. Aside from the not-so-surprising fact that my taste has changed since then, I have to admit that the wedding registry china has barely seen the light of day since the wedding-motif gift wrap came off. While I love the idea of "living every day to the fullest" and not saving your good stuff for only "special" or rare occasions, our original pattern just seems way too fancy and impractical for our casual get-togethers.
That’s why I instantly fell in love with the new simplyFine china collections from Lenox . Contemporary, stylish patterns that are way more versatile than formal china because they can translate from everyday dinner parties to formal occasions. I just got the Chirp pattern {pictured above} and LOVE it!

urban lights & brights
Have a case of the winter blahs? These hot-hued finds from Urban Outfitters should help to put you back in the party mood… First up: this super charming Spectrum Chandelier ($36) and fun-n-funky Rainbow Candelabra ($48) are both just begging for a cocktail party!

Clockwise from top:
Who would’ve guessed that something named “Chevron Barbeque Belt” could be so fabulous?! This colorful cotton waist apron is super cute, only $14, and sure to be the life of the party!; jewel-toned Diner Cups (5 for $10), an adorably bizarre (or bizarrely adorable) Octopus Juicer ($14); and ceramic Souper Bowls in candy-coated colors ($5 ea or $15/4).
